Grandparents' bone ashSince January 14, I had traveled to Uttaradit, a province in the northern Thailand, to visit my relatives and to commit some religious activities. The first activity was Loi Angkhan, a rite to float dead people's bone ash on running water. There were several dead people in my family such as grandparents, uncle and aunt. The belief of this activity is to guide their soul reborn in good state in the next life. Another activity was to redeeming a vow to Phraya Phichai, a warrior who followed Phraya Taksin in repelling the Burmese and reuniting Siam. (By the way, it could be made only at his monument.) I did not know what reason to redeem for because my mother did not tell me. After these, we had a little party at their home.

Sun beam at basementI had known before I went to Uttaradit that it would happen solar eclipse on January 15. The eclipse occured as annular type internationally but we were able to see as only partial zone. I had observed it for long time.

On the way back in January 18-19, I visited some interesting points along Lop Buri. See all photos here: http://fwd4.me/C0R. Sorry for this, I did not take them much.
