Minecraft looks like a sandbox game, like Second Life. The main feature is that everything in the game is presented in blocks; you will not find any circle or curve there. You must not only build your world, but you must also try to survive. It can be played in single-player or multi-player mode. In particular, multi-player mode is more interesting than the other because IRPG members can join in. Firstly, one of us set up a Minecraft server and allowed us to participate. But it was not efficient because the game had very much delayed. Later, another member introduced to rent a co-location server from some providers; it surely cost money. However, the members pleased to share its overhead. Afterwards, a problem occured when the provider published its IP & port to connect with our Minecraft world. Many outsiders accessed the game and annoyed our peaceful world, for example, stealing items, attacking players and burning houses. As the result, we requested the provider to permit only white-list users joining in. We then finally live a calm and pleasant life. |
